North Korean leader Kim Jong-il was reportedly accompanied by his third son and heir apparent Kim Jong-un while attending an artillery training session on October fifth ahead of the 65th Workers’ Party Foundation Day.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) says it was the first time the younger Kim accompanied his father to a field guidance exercise.

The report said that the two Kims were also accompanied by members of the party’s Central Military Commission and other senior officials.
