N.Korea Turns Down Offer of Talks

North Korea has reportedly rejected a proposal by the U.S.-led U.N. Command to hold general-level military talks on Tuesday's artillery attack by North Korea.

The U.N. Command proposed to North Korea on Wednesday a round of general-level talks to discuss the North’s firing of artillery rounds at South Korea’s Yeonpyeong Island in the Yellow Sea and to exchange information.

Three deadly clashes between gunboats of the divided sides have erupted since 1999 near the Yellow Sea border, also known as the Northern Limit Line. A Seoul-led international investigation also determined that the North was responsible for the sinking of a South Korean warship in March in the Yellow Sea.
