S.Korea to Partially Lift Ban on Entry to Gaeseong

The government will partially lift a ban on vehicle passage to and from the Gaeseong Industrial Complex in North Korea that was put in place after the North's artillery attack on a South Korean island late last month.

A Unification Ministry official says that 70 vehicles will enter Gaeseong on Friday to bring materials into the complex and to transport finished products back to the South.

The official says that 20 of the 70 vehicles belong to South Korean companies that operate in the complex and that it's their first trip to North Korea since the attack on Yeonpyeong Island.

He says that about 50 vehicles have been delivering materials and goods to the complex since Monday but that the deliveries weren’t enough to meet the companies' demand.

The official said the ministry will continue to be flexible on the matter.

On Friday, 90 South Koreans are expected to head to the complex and 109 will return to the South.
