S.Korean Guitarist Wins Australian Competition

A South Korean teenager has won the inaugural Adelaide International Guitar Competition in Australia.

Eighteen-year-old Kim Jin-hee was pitted against guitarists from Germany, Hungary, Israel and Australia in the competition that ended earlier this week.

Kim finished atop of the competition for a monetary award of over eleven million won and a guitar valued at 17 million won.

Kim debuted in 2006 at the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation’s prodigy concert, after which she won various guitar contests. She is currently a freshman enrolled at the Korea National University of Arts.
