'NK Public Angered by Military Tension'

Radio Free Asia (RFA) says that mounting military tension in North Korea has bred resentment among citizens there toward North Korean leader Kim Jong-il’s heir apparent Kim Jong-un.

The Washington-funded broadcaster quoted a source in North Korea as saying that two days before the attack, the Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea issued an emergency order to concentrate all the North’s electricity to military bases and government facilities.

The move reportedly cut off the electricity supply to the public.

Another source said that the deterioration of the political and economic situation which led to sharp hikes in rice prices and foreign exchange rates spread the idea among the North Korean public that Kim Jong-un was to blame. As a result, RFA said the North Korean public is openly expressing its dissatisfaction.
