The Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO) said Monday the number of Koreans who went abroad in July hit a record monthly high of 724,788, up 9.1 percent from a year earlier. According to the tourism organization, many chose to spend their weekend in foreign countries as the five-day workweek system was introduced to the financial sector in July and the strengthened won gave Koreans extra purchasing power.
