Nation Ranks Second at International Junior Science Olympiad

The Education, Science and Technology Ministry says the nation took second place at the 7th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) held in Nigeria.

All six South Korean participants, including Kim Dae-sung from Hangsin Middle School, won medals at the Olympiad, totaling three golds and three silvers.

The Olympiad is an annual international science competition for students not older than 15 years old, with 180 students from 33 countries participating this year.

The nation has participated in the competition since 2004 and placed first two times.
