Putin Urges N.Korea to Acquiesce with UNSC Resolutions

Russia and Mongolia urged North Korea to implement without any conditions the U.N. Security Council resolution that demands North Korea to dismantle its nuclear program and to resolve inter-Korean issues through dialogue.

Media reported that Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Mongolian Prime Minister Sükhbaatar Batbold met in Moscow Tuesday local time and adopted a joint statement to that effect.

The two prime ministers expressed concern over escalating inter-Korean tensions, stressing the necessity of resuming the six-party denuclearization talks.

The two prime ministers also called upon North Korea to implement UNSC resolutions that demand North Korea to scrap its nuclear program and put sanctions on the Communist nation.
