The Seoul Metropolitan Government held Wednesday a winter solstice event at a traditional-style home community in the heart of Seoul.

Foreign brides who moved to South Korea partook in activities to learn the meaning of the traditional winter solstice holiday in Korea.

Events included making glutinous rice balls for red bean porridge and making winter solstice talismans and traditional Korean socks.

More events will be held, including folk music and folk dance parades in the streets.
