Five South Korean lawmakers, including the vice speaker, are seeking a visit to North Korea during the Sept. 21st "Chuseok (full moon harvest)" holiday to discuss ways to expand cultural exchanges. Bae Ki-sun, chairman of the National Assembly's culture-tourism committee, said Sunday they want to visit Pyongyang between Sept. 18-22, along with the KBS orchestra, but are currently discussing the schedule with the North. He said, while in Pyongyang, he will meet with North Korean officials in the fields of culture, arts and sports, to discuss broadcasting exchanges and reopening of soccer matches between inter-Korean capital cities. In particular, Vice Speaker Kim is expected to propose an inter-Korean parliamentary meeting to the North.
