The Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) has launched a smartphone service that allows citizens to send stories, pictures or videos to the broadcaster via their smartphones.

When using the KBS news application, smartphone users can easily record and send videos as a live feed by submitting information to KBS on various incidents at any location. This new smartphone application consolidates the various methods of sending videos that previous non-smartphones utilized, as their programs varied by phone models and service providers.

The KBS news application also has social networking functions, such as "Twitter" and "Facebook," to expand its communication channels with the viewers.
