Report: S.Korea's GNI 37 Times Larger than NK's in 2009

South Korea’s gross national income (GNI) was found to be more than 37 times larger than North Korea’s in 2009.

According to a report released by Statistics Korea, South Korea’s GNI in 2009 stood at around 837 billion dollars, while North Korea’s stood at 22-point-four billion dollars.

The report found that the South’s GNI per capita amounted to 17-thousand-175 dollars, nearly 18 times more than the North’s 960 dollars.

The South’s trade volume of 687 billion dollars in 2009 was 202 times larger than the North's three-point-four billion dollars.

The report said the South produced around three-and-a-half million cars in 2009, while the North produced just four-thousand.
