S.Korea Calls for NK’s Responsible Attitude on Provocations

South Korea says that in order for inter-Korean talks to be held, North Korea must demonstrate sincerity about improving relations and act responsibly.

An official from the Unification Ministry in Seoul says the North must admit culpability for the sinking of South Korea’s “Cheonan” naval vessel and its artillery attack on South Korea’s Yeonpyeong Island last year.

The official said the North must also display a change in attitude that is convincing to the South Korean public and the international community.

The official said North Korea must take concrete measures to observe the agreement it made to dismantle its nuclear program if inter-Korean talks are to be resumed.
