Property damage from Typhoon Rusa tops 5 trillion won

As of 8:00 a.m. Saturday, the National Disaster Prevention and Countermeasure Headquarters calculates that Typhoon Rusa, which hit South Korea last weekend, caused a record 5 and-a-half trillion won or over 4 and-a-half billion US dollars of damage. The amount of damage is five times the previous record of 1 trillion won caused by Typhoon Olga in 1999. The final tally of the number of casualties is now expected to exceed 200.
