Stream of Mourners Continue to Pay Respects to Novelist Park

Mourners continue to line up to visit the memorial altar for novelist Park Wan-seo, 80, who died of gallbladder cancer early Saturday morning.

Her fellow novelists and writers, and fans paid respects to Park at the altar, while President Lee also sent flowers to Park’s family conveying his condolences.

Cardinal Nicholas Cheong Jin-suk also mourned her death, remembering Park as a representative writer and also an exemplary Catholic devotee.

Major bookstores set up special sections to feature the works of Park, and many fans have expressed their condolences on the internet.

Park will be buried at 8:30 a.m. on 25th in the Catholic cemetery in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
