S.Korea: Scope of Inter-Korean Talks Depends on NK

South Korea says the pace and scope of inter-Korean talks going forward depends completely on North Korea’s attitude.

Unification Minister Hyun In-taek said Tuesday that the key issues facing the two Koreas at this point are the North’s torpedoing and sinking of a South Korean military vessel, its artillery attack on the South’s Yeonpyeong Island, and the dismantlement of the North’s nuclear program.

Hyun said that without resolving these issues, inter-Korean relations will not improve.

He said that dialogue between the two sides will be pursued under the condition that the three issues are discussed.
