Rusa leaves 5.3 tril won in property damage, 184 dead, missing

The National Anti-Disaster Headquarters said Sunday Typhoon Rusa caused 5.38 trillion won or US$4.2 billion dollars in damage to the nation. The headquarters said the figure is up 330 billion won from a day earlier. The total amount breaks down to 1.5 trillion won for destroyed rivers, 296 billion won for devastated vessels and rice fields, 2 trillion won for sea farms, 894 billion won for roads and bridges, 146 billion won for buildings and 391 billion won for banks and irrigation facilities. The amount is over five times 1.07 trillion won in the damage Typhoon Olga caused nationwide in 1999. The headquarters said Rusa also left 123 people dead and 61 missing.
