Gaeseong Complex to Take Break for Lunar New Year

South Korea’s Unification Ministry says that the Gaeseong Industrial Complex in North Korea will temporarily halt operations for three days during the Lunar New Year holiday period this week.

A ministry official said that North Korea designated February third to the fifth as the Lunar New Year holiday period. Overland cross-border travel will also be halted during the period.

North Korea began celebrating the Lunar New Year holiday again in 1989 after having not done so following the 1953 ceasefire of the Korean War.
