NK Bolsters Anti-South Propaganda

North Korea has strengthened propaganda activity against South Korea following the breakdown of inter-Korean working-level defense talks earlier in the week.

The North's Korean Central Television and other media outlets in the North have been continuously airing a four-page statement by the North Korean delegates who participated in the working-level talks in which they blamed South Korea for the ruptured talks. The North also referred to South Korea in the statement as a “traitor” and a “gang.”

The statement also said that there is no longer any need to engage with the South.

An official from Seoul's Unification Ministry says that South Korea remains unchanged in its stance that it will be willing to engage in dialogue if the North displays sincerity in its attitude.

He added that slanderous remarks do not help inter-Korean relations in any way.
