N.Korea Reiterates Call for S-N Korean Dialogue

A state-run North Korean newspaper has urged South Korea to accept the North’s demands for inter-Korean dialogue.

The Rodong Sinmun, an organ for the ruling Workers' Party claimed in its editorial that South Korea has rejected a rare opportunity for dialogue by demanding unjustified preconditions.

The paper claimed that the North's call for dialogue has no preconditions and only contains sincerity for mending deteriorated inter-Korean ties and achieve peace and unification.

The newspaper said that there was no sincerity in South Korean President Lee Myung-bak’s speech on March first. In the speech marking March first Independence Movement Day, Lee said Seoul is always ready for dialogue with North Korea.

The North Korean newspaper also said South Korea must respond to North Korea’s proposal without condition.
