N.K. athletes arrive in Busan for Asian Games

Officials and journalists arrived at Kimhae Airport Monday to attend the 14th Asian Games to be held in Busan on Sept. 29th-Oct. 14th, opening a new chapter in inter-Korean sports exchanges, a North Korean advance group of 159 athletes. This is the first time North Korean athletes have visited South Korea to take part in an international sporting event. The group arrived onboard an Air Koryo plane via a direct inter-Korean air route from Sunan Airport, Pyongyang. A 350-member supporters squad will arrive in Busan Sept. 28th aboard the Mangyonbong ferry from the eastern port of Wonsan. A total of 311 North Korean athletes will participate in 18 events in the Asiad.
