Choi KJ wins Tampa bay classic

South Korean golfer Che/ Kyong-ju shot a final round 68 to win the Tampa Bay Classic in Palm Harbor, Fla. on Sunday, his second victory on the USPGA Tour this season. Wrapping up the four round competition with a 17-under 267, Che/ finished seven shots ahead of his nearest challenger, Glen Day, who closed with a 69. Mark Brooks shot a 67 to finish 9 under, eight strokes off the pace. Choi's seven-shot margin of victory was the largest on the Tour this season. Choi, who won the Compaq Classic of New Orleans in May to become the first South Korean winner on the PGA Tour, became the season's seventh multiple winner. With Monday's victory, the 32 year old took home the US$468,000 winner's check, taking his season's earnings to US$1.939 million, 17th on the PGA money list. He also secured his PGA admission for October's Tour Championship and next year's four majors.
