NK Threatens to Fire at Leaflet Distribution Sites

North Korea has again threatened to fire at locations where South Korean activist groups plan to disseminate anti-North Korean leaflets.

In an interview with the North's Korean Central Television aired on Wednesday night, a North Korean general said that the North's military, across the entire border, is at all times ready to aim and fire at South Korean strongholds of psychological warfare.

The state-run TV said that the psychological warfare is also an "act of war," noting that the South is continuously attempting to distribute the leaflets through conservative organizations.

Some 20 South Korean activist groups plan to circulate the leaflets on Baengnyeong Island on Friday and Saturday to mark the first year anniversary of Pyongyang's torpedoing of the Cheonan, a South Korean naval vessel. The activist groups will arrive on the island Thursday.
