Newly released data shows that South Koreans work less and spend more time on the Internet and mobile phones compared to five years ago.
A KBS research center and an institute at Seoul National University recently conducted a joint survey on how South Koreans spend their day.
According to the poll results, the average time spent for work, house chores and commuting decreased by 23 minutes on weekdays, 42 minutes on Saturdays and 28 minutes on Sunday, compared to data recorded in 2005.
However, the time spent for using the Internet and mobile phones increased by 27 minutes and 23 minutes, respectively.
South Koreans spend an average of one hour and 46 minutes watching terrestrial television broadcasting on weekdays, two hours and nine minutes on Saturdays and two hours and 49 minutes on Sundays.
The survey was conducted on some 34-hundred people aged ten and over between October 16th and the 18th last year in the form of direct interviews. It has a margin of error of plus or minus one-point-65 percent with a confidence level of 95 percent.
