KBS to Hold 1st-ever Mock Disaster Broadcast

KBS, the nation's official First Response Broadcaster, will air a disaster broadcast simulation at 10 p.m. Friday.

The mock session, which will be the first time ever in the country, will presume a disaster scenario on the Korean Peninsula, such as an earthquake or tsunami. The exercise aims to examine the disaster broadcast system and prepare for proper response measures.

For the program, experts will evaluate the effectiveness of Japan's NHK's broadcasting system during its latest coverage of disasters in the island nation. They will also analyze and compare the systems of Japan and South Korea.
