Environmental industry & technology forum opens at COEX Tuesday

The Korea Environmental Industry Association (KEIA) said Monday the 1st Environmental Industry & Technology Forum will be held Oct. 1-2 at the COEX Convention Center in southern Seoul. Korean and foreign government officials from countries such as China, Vietnam and the Philippines and 200 business leaders from 150 companies, home and abroad, are scheduled to participate in the forum. Ten domestic companies are to give presentations on five fields including atmosphere and water quality, waste, environmental product and eco-system restoration. Each participating company will negotiate with foreign buyers in their booths to draw investment. According to the KEIA, the environmental market of Asian countries excepting Japan posted US$28 billion as of 1999, 5.65 percent of the world's market worth $495 billion.
