S.Korea Ranks 10th on Global Network Readiness Index

South Korean was ranked 10th this year among 138 countries worldwide in the Networked Readiness Index (NRI), which was announced by the World Economic Forum.

The ranking is up five notches from last year.

Sweden maintained its top spot on the list, followed by Singapore, Finland, Switzerland, the U.S., Taiwan and Canada.

The Korea Communications Commission said that South Korea received good marks in several categories, such as the government’s online service level and the number of mobile phone subscribers.

Based on a comprehensive annual survey of over 15-thousand executives worldwide, the NRI examines countries’ preparedness and effectiveness in information and communication technology usage.
