UM: Subject of Talks More Important than Talks Themselves

South Korean Unification Minister Hyun In-taek is calling for greater sincerity from the North, saying that the content of inter-Korean discussion is more important than just holding talks.

At a discussion at the National Assembly Thursday, Hyun said that although there are signs that are conducive to inter-Korean dialogue, the shadow of confrontation still lingers.

In particular, Hyun said that inter-Korean talks should present a direction for issues regarding the Korean Peninsula. He also said that North Korea must take more responsibility for the sinking of the Cheonan and the North’s shelling of Yeonpyong Island than it has before.
