KCC Chief Attends Broadband Summit

Korea Communications Commission (KCC) Chairman Choi See-joong has attended the 2011 Korea-Australia-New Zealand Broadband Summit to discuss cooperation and exchanges among the three nations.

In the sixth summit on Thursday in Hobart, Australia, the KCC chief asked Australia and New Zealand to support South Korean companies’ participation in combined 48-trillion-won projects to establish their national broadband networks.

Australian Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy Senator Stephen Conroy and New Zealand Minister for Communications and Information Steven Joyce promised their active cooperation.

Conroy and Joyce showed keen interest in South Korea’s digital multimedia broadcasting technology and smart TVs introduced during a presentation.

South Korea will host the seventh summit next year.
