2nd Batch of Korean Royal Texts Arrive in S.Korea

The second batch of Korean royal texts of Joseon Dynasty arrived home from the National Library of France Friday.

The shipment contained 73 volumes of which ten are the only copies in existence.

The royal texts, or Oegyujanggak Uigwe, passed customs and were transported to storage at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul.

The first batch of the royal books was returned from France on April 14th. The 75 volumes were plundered by France in 1866. Those royal books describe the protocols of royal ceremonies and rituals in the form of writings and drawings.
