The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) will launch a domain service for people to use the Korean alphabet, Hangeul, for their domain names starting May 25th.

The KCC on Tuesday said that it will accept applications for dot-hanguk domains from state or public organizations and holders of trademark rights for 12 weeks beginning May 25th.
Ordinary citizens will be allowed to apply from August 22nd.

If more than two people apply for the same domain name, the owner will be decided by lottery.

The Korea Internet Security Agency (KISA) will oversee the applications. Those interested may call 118 or visit the KISA Web site "domain.kr" for more information.
