NK: Nonghyup Hacking Claim is Fabrication

North Korea is blasting South Korea for its claims that the banking system crash at the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, or Nonghyup, was perpetrated by the North.

A spokesman for the North's Ministry of the People's Armed Forces said Wednesday that Seoul's claim is completely groundless and fabricated just like the sinking of the South Korean naval vessel “Cheonan.”

The North's Korean Central News Agency carried this statement and added that South Korean military officials and other experts are skeptical about their conclusion on the Nonghyup attack.

The North said the South Korean administration has created the story to grapple with an end-of-term lame duck crisis.

This is the third time South Korea has found North Korea responsible for cyber attacks since the 2009 distributed denial-of-service or DDoS attacks. But it's the first time the North has responded to the allegations.
