The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) has launched a legal review into written answers presented by Apple and Google regarding the alleged illegal collection of users’ location data.

A KCC official said on Friday that a team of legal experts will closely look into the answers that Apple Korea and Google Korea submitted earlier this week. The ten-page documents reportedly contain no new information other than their claims which they have made in hearings in the United States.

The KCC may suspend their operations or levy fines if the firms are found to have violated the nation’s act on the protection of location information.
