E.Asian Cultural Heritage Meeting Opens This Wk

The seventh Meeting of the Networking of East Asian Cultural Heritage will open in Seoul Wednesday.

The meeting is aimed at expanding cooperation between South Korea, China, Japan, and member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, or ASEAN.

The event runs through Friday and will be attended by government delegates from the three East Asian nations and ten ASEAN members and also officials from UNESCO and other organizations.

The participants will reaffirm their commitment to preserving East Asian cultural heritage and also discuss the implementation of their programs aimed at preserving and managing cultural heritage.

They will also discuss the role of the Intangible Heritage Centre for Asia-Pacific which will open in June.
