A successful 14th Asian Games draws to a close in Pusan Monday evening

The 14th Busan Asian Games has wrapped up its 16-day race for medals. A grand closing ceremony was held on Monday night. On the last day of the event, South Korea added three gold medals in the badminton and marathon events. Yee Bong-ju won the men's 42.195 km. marathon in 2 hours, 14 minutes and 4 seconds, bringing his country it's 95th medal. south Korea ranked second in the overall medal tally. The Busan Asiad is the largest in Asiad history with 44 nations taking part. In particular, war-ravaged Afghanistan, Palestine and East Timor's participation reflects Asian people's ardent wish for peace. North Korea's surprise entry has also made a deep impression on the world by showing the unity of all Koreans.
