Unification Minister Hyun In-taek says North Korea must return to the framework of inter-Korean dialogue.

At a seminar to discuss ways to achieve peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula, Hyun said that North Korea should not veer further from a normal state in its relations with South Korea.

Regarding North Korea’s disclosure of a secret contact with the South, the minister said that the North had distorted the contents of the talks in order to put the South Korean government into a difficult situation, and to stir up disputes among South Koreans.

Hyun also said that the ministry would come up with unification policy directions, including ways to finance the merging of the two Koreas, by late June.
