Humanitarian and Hollywood star Richard Gere is currently visiting South Korea to promote a photography exhibition.

The exhibition titled, “Pilgrim,” features photos of Tibet.

Gere, a devout Buddhist, has also been taking in the nation's Buddhist culture. He made his first stop at the Jogye temple where he paid respects to the Buddha statue in the main hall.

In a meeting with the Most Venerable Jaseung, Chief Administrator of the Jogye Order, Gere shared his Buddhist ideas, saying that enlightenment is already present, not far off.
