S.Korea, US Coordinate Satellite Frequency

The Radio Research Agency under the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) and the U.S. government have recently coordinated frequencies used by the two nations to prevent the new U.S. satellite network from affecting the operation of South Korea’s ocean weather communications satellite Cheollian.

The KCC said on Tuesday that the agreement reached in the frequency coordination meeting between South Korea and the U.S. will now enable a stable operation of Cheollian.

The commission said that the two nations also agreed to increase the output of South Korea’s existing Mugunghwa satellites, which will resolve poor reception due to rain and extend services provision via small antennas.
