S.Korean Delegation Visits NK To Discuss Assets at Mt. Geumgang

A South Korean delegation has entered North Korea to discuss in concrete terms South Korean assets the North is threatening to dispose of at Mount Geumgang resort.

The twelve-member delegation crossed into North Korea through the Inter-Korean Transit Office on a cross-border land route in Goseong, Gangwon Province. The group is comprised of six government officials and six business officials from Hyundai Asan and other companies that have investments in the resort. The delegation is led by the Unification Ministry’s chief of the Social and Cultural Exchange Division Seo Du-hyeon.

Pyongyang notified Seoul on June 17th that it will dispose of the assets and demanded that concerned South Korean government and business officials should visit before the end of June.
