Univ. Reform Task Force to Launch

A task force is being launched to discuss ways to restructure and reform the nation’s universities.

The 20-member reform committee comprises civic experts of various fields and is headed by Hong Seung-yong, a former president of Inha University who now leads a green growth forum.
The committee will hold its first meeting on Tuesday.

The committee will discuss standards and procedures to assess insolvent private universities and will also deliberate on the takeover, merger and shutdown of schools with poor governance structure.

Modernizing the structure of and consolidating national universities will also be addressed.
