Jogye Temple to Hold Service to Pray for Pyeongchang's Bid

The headquarters of the nation’s Jogye Buddhist order will hold a service at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to pray that Pyeongchang wins its bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The service at Jogye Temple in central Seoul will be held before the International Olympic Committee's announcement of the host nation, which will be carried live by the nation’s three major broadcasters. A large TV screen will be set up at the temple to watch the event.

The temple has tolled a bell 23 times at noon every day since June 17th to pray for Pyeonchang’s successful bid for the 23rd Winter Olympics.
