Student Academic Performance Evaluation Tests Conducted

State-administered tests to evaluate the academic performance of students were conducted at 15-thousand schools nationwide on Tuesday.

The tests were given to one-point-nine million sixth graders, middle school seniors and high school sophomores.

Sixth graders and high school sophomores were tested on the Korean language, English and math. Middle school seniors took tests on five subjects including the Korean language, social studies, math, science and English.

The Education Ministry began conducting the tests in 2008 to evaluate academic achievement and to help poor performers.
