SK Delegation at Mt. Geumgang to Discuss Seized Assets

A South Korean delegation of government and private company officials has arrived at the Mount Geumgang resort to discuss the companies' seized assets there.

The ten-member delegation is led by the Unification Ministry’s chief of Social and Cultural Exchange Division Seo Du-hyeon. It crossed into North Korea through an inter-Korean transit office on a border land route in Goseong, Gangwon Province.

The South Korean delegation plans to discuss the companies' seized or frozen assets with the North’s Guidance Bureau for Comprehensive Development of Scenic Spots.

North Korea sent a message to Hyundai Asan on June 29th demanding that South Korean companies bring to the North their plans on how to dispose their assets at Mount Geumgang no later than July 13th. The current meeting comes as the North acccepted Seoul's counterproposal to send a delegation of government and private company officials to the resort for discussion.
