Designer Planning 1st Hanbok Fashion Show on Dokdo Islets

Researcher and designer of hanbok, the traditional Korean attire, Lee Yeong-heui is pushing the first-ever hanbok fashion show on the Dokdo islets on August 15th to mark the nation’s Liberation Day from Japanese colonial rule.

Lee said she began planning the show since Japan put in its school textbooks that the Dokdo islets are Japanese territory. She said the schedule will be finalized around late July.

The unprecedented fashion show will showcase a collection of royal attire worn by the kings and queens from the Joseon Dynasty as well as other traditional hanboks.
