NK Reports Damage from Heavy Rainfall

North Korea’s Korean Central Broadcasting Station says the North has sustained heavy damage from recent torrential rains.

The state-run broadcaster said more than 520 millimeters of rain fell on the district of Cheongdan in South Hwanghae Province for 12 hours from noon Tuesday. The downpour flooded around 14-thousand-200 hectares of farmland.

The report added that traffic has been blocked from destroyed bridges and roads and that all communication networks are currently down.
