Institute Selects Eight Overseas Projects to Support Korean Cultural Heritage

The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage has unveiled plans to support eight projects overseas to preserve and promote Korean cultural properties.

The institute plans to provide support for six projects in the United States, including efforts to preserve a 19th century painting of the Jinju Fortress in the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco.

Another project will benefit the San Antonio Museum of Art’s efforts to preserve Korean green-shade porcelain kettles.

Outside of the U.S., the institute will help the Ferenc Hopp Museum of Eastern Asiatic Arts in Budapest issue educational books as well as help organize, preserve and exhibit ancient books stored at the library of East China Normal University.

The institute said it will convey its plans to related agencies of the respective countries and actively provide support, including financial assistance.
