Teachers' Groups of 3 Nations to Cooperate for Peace in East Asia

Teachers’ associations of South Korea, China and Japan have agreed to cooperate to maintain peace in East Asia and to promote understanding among the nations.

The Korean Federation of Teachers’ Association, the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union, Japan's Teacher's Union, and the relevant authority of All-China Federation of Trade Unions held an annual trilateral forum on Tuesday in Seoul on history textbooks for peace.

During the conference, the groups agreed to work together to uphold peace in the region through proper education of modern Asian history.

Chinese teachers’ associations participated in the forum from 2006, which had started as a bilateral meeting between South Korea and Japan in 2003 to boost their relations and exchanges.

About 50 officials from the four groups attended this year.
