Olympic sprint gold medalist Usain Bolt has arrived in Daegu to compete in the 2011 IAAF World Championships, which is set to open on August 27th.
It is the second time for Bolt to visit South Korea since May of last year when he competed in the Daegu IAAF Pre-Championships Meeting.
Bolt and the Jamaican team will begin training at Gyeongsan Stadium in the city from Wednesday.
The Jamaican sprinter aims to win three gold medals at the championships. Bolt will be competing in the men’s 100 meters on August 28th, 200 meters on September third and 400 meters relay on the fourth.
The world record holder in the men’s 100 meters and 200 meters won three gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the previous world championships in 2009 in Berlin.
Enthusiasm for the championships is likely to grow as global star sprinters enter the nation one after another.
