Hyundai Asan Asks NK to Continue Talks, Resume Tour Program

Hyundai Asan is believed to have proposed to North Korea to continue negotiations to resume its tour program at the North’s Mount Geumgang resort.

The four officials from the South Korean tour operator to the resort visited the resort’s Geumgangsan Hotel on Friday for a meeting with three North Korean officials to discuss the issue of the tour operator’s property rights.

According to Hyundai Asan, the officials insisted to the North that its exclusive license to operate the tour should be respected. They also demanded the North to abstain from launching unilateral measures and rather continue productive discussions.

The four Hyundai Asan officials returned to South Korea at around 3:30 p.m. via the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine office on the inter-Korean Donghae Line.
