The government has issued a cyber attack advisory ahead of the IAAF World Championships in Athletics opening in Daegu on Saturday.

The government said that the issuance of the advisory is to prepare against possible cyber attacks, such as a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack and the spread of malicious codes, during the global sporting event.

The alert will require government agencies to maintain an emergency mode and take measures to prevent cyber attacks.
